Anyone fancy a weekend on the Island of Mull next summer, probably in August?

It would be based here which is four miles off the main road along an easy track.

It can be fully catered with a bar.:beerjug:

I'm not sure of costs yet and am only looking for a rough guestimate of numbers.

Is this instead of the Skye Weekend . . Or are we hopeful of HRH's full return ??

Sounds good, but I haven't made any plans for 2009 yet so won't commit just yet.

Bob.

No it's not instead of the Skye weekend- I was talking to my pal who runs Tavool and he asked if I thought it would be any good for a GS weekend- and now I'm asking you lot if you fancy it.

Doesn't have to be August- that's the earliest it will be free and at the moment I'm just trying to gauge interest.

I like to idea of that.

Can't commit that far ahead at the moment:thumb2

'Ehhhh............. '

I might need a refresher course. Have been on Mull a few times but other than Tobermory and the various ferry crossings it does nowt for me! Stayed in thon campsite that has the 'pigsheds' - never again!!!

I recon we'd need about 15 to make it work and it looks like we'd get that many so I'll check up and see what dates would work and post them up once I've been over to Mull to check it out- maybe in a couple of weeks time.

Anyone fancy a wee day trip over?

You sound like a man who's never been up Ben More or paddled out of Dervaig, round the headland into Croig and then tried to paddle back to Dervaig against the falling tide or explored MacKinnon's Cave and waded out against the incoming tide or visited the Fossil Tree at Burg or spent his formative years going to the Tour of Mull Rally every year or, equally, spent much of his formative years in lock-ins in the Glen Forsa or the Salen Hotel or flown out of the airstrip at Glen Forsa in a Cessna or met Sir Lionel Leslie, Winston Churchill's late cousin at the House at Grasspoint where his barn was used as the fisherman's cottage in When Eight Bells Toll, or been to Duart Castle which was used as the Schloss in Where Eagles Dare or.......

.....I could go on with 30 years worth of experiences since I first went there on my Commando in '77. Mull's a magical place.
