Beautiful Essex.
I 'ave, and am not entirely sure about one thing............

The rather nice guard slots over the cooler with a couple of lugs that hang over the back. The retaining method is - wait for it - 2 plastic tie fasteners (I'm sure there's a technical name for them, but I know not what it is).

Now the ties seem to hold it well enough but they are rather near to the back of the cooler, almost touching.

My questions is: does it get hot here and will I and my bike go up in flames as a result?

Cheers

G

Had one on mine from new. It's still there and no flames...yet!

Mines still in its wrapper. Wish I had not bought it TBH. Fitting looks complicated for something so simple and I'm not sure its even that well made.

I like the look of the combination one MikeO has or something similar, but this would mean getting rid of the BMW light guard which is already on it.

I would go for Reyno's. In fact I did! It was very easily and securely fitted using the two screws that support the beak. It was a ten minute job, well designed and looks really good too.:)

Cheap guard

I saw Steptoe's oil cooler guard and it is a simple piece of drain mesh. Cost nothing, cut to shape and fit as usual. Looks a good as anything else and cost 50p...consider it

i read the instructions that came with the cover, it was alot to take off to fit, but i stuck with it and it fitted fine, nice fit and no cable ties, just fitted on, and then put evrything back together again, good bit oif kit

Thanks, all, for the feedback.

And Nige, you're very local. Is there much of a rideout/community scene in our neck of the woods?
