If you have installed the Touratech windscreen support (hard part for windscreen) item #: 044-0414, would you please let me know how it works, and if you could post a picture take from the front of the bike, it would be very helpful. The photo listed on their website isn't very good.

Also, if you've installed the Touratech spoiler which clips to the top of the stock screen, any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you!

I've fitted the spolier and the "Brace" that mounts to the frame behind the screen.

The spolier works quite well. I'm 6'00'' and have the saddle in the higher position (Doesn't bend my bad knees as much). This is with the screen in the highest position. I can ride at speeds of up to 40ish mph with my visor raised should I so wish and my visor stays a lot cleaner.

As for the brace it seems to work fairly well though I've had to modify it a little as it wasn't making contact with the screen when it was on its highest setting. Also I ended up putting a little foam where it touches the screen in order to stop it rattling over the bumps.

Now its sorted its worthwhile though.

I fitted the screen extension a couple of weeks ago, and found it provided a great deal of extra protection. Much less wind noise, and buffeting. At this time was running with the tobinators, but on closer inspection of the Touratech catalogue decided to get the extra mounts, which appear to consist of aluminium replacements for the black plastic jobbies at the end of the support frame. Fitted them this last w/e, but as yet no chance to test things. Based on what happened to the raised screen on my old 650 gs I suspect that the current screen will flex greatly around the mounting screws and cause a terminal fracture in the screen. Wonder whether should have gone for an after market screen first off rather than try to make do, but time will tell.

The wunderlich are the same I suspect - aluminium replacement for the plastic oem piece. I changed my screen to the secdem offering - I can ride to 70-80 with my visor up and no screen rattles now...:)

Excellent, I have a Secdem sitting on the garage floor waiting to be fitted (haven't been able to fit it yet) and if there's one thing I love it's riding with my visor open ALL the time :)

Cheers

I fitted a TT spoiler for the windscreen and hard part a couple of weeks ago, what a differance. I am 5.10 tall and can now ride with my visor up at 80+mph no problem. However I wish I had orderer the lockable version as mine can be removed very easy so I will be relunctant to leave it on the bike if it is left anywhere unatended.
It has also cut down the buffiting conciderably.
It dose what it says it dose on the tin.

Nadeem. Did you just fit a screen or a new bracket as well?

Andy

Andy,

I changed the plastic bit for the aluminium one from Wunderlich (which fits inside the bracket) and the screen.

Thanks for the feedback on the spoiler. I was also asking about the "hard part" that goes at the top of the windscreen mounting area, not the ones that replace the black plastic screw things, but the one that supposedly gives the windscreen more support and prevents it from flexing. Anyone else buy one of those?

Yes, I bought the support (Read Brace in my earlier posting) for the screen. Not bad but didn't quite touch the screen when it was in the highest position. also I've fitted some foam to the screen where the support makes contact as it seemed to rattle a little. Try the stuff you get for sealing around windowframes as it seems to do the trick.
