Hi , I have just fitted Wilbers WSA shocks. I stumbled across some info which I could easily have missed, which I thought I would pass on to others. When replacing the rear shock the bottom fitting point has a bush which must be removed and cleaned / greased then replaced (I actually replaced mine with a new one) if this is not done the correct torque may not be achieved , this may result in a failure. :thumb2

Useful tip, thank you. I didn't think to replace mine, which will now be done tomorrow.:beerjug:

Yep, Nick at revs told me about this at the weekend. He said it should be free to move but they usually seize when they get covered in grot. They use a purpose made slide hammer to pull them out.

Took mine out yesterday using some spacers on the inside, a large spark plug socket on the outside, and a big G clamp to squeeeeeze it out. It was really tight! Every turn of the clamp gave a loud crack as though the bush was stud locked in!

I cleaned the bush with fine emery, did the same to the hole in the swing arm, a shmear of grease, just slipped in and it can now move as it should. It is a very close fit though, initially I thought it was an interference fit and that Nick had got it wrong. Ha! it just has really fine clearance and may needs a bit of good ole brut to get it out.
