Hi
Can anybody provide feedback on the following tyre?

Maxxis M6029 Supermaxx Rear
170/60 ZR17 TL (72W) Rear wheel

was made redundant on the 19th Aug. bike needs new rear tyre, Mot, 18K service and warranty is up for renewal in 3 weeks.

as you can appreciate this is a big bill so trying to save costs.

if anybody has a nearly new rear going cheap it would be appreciated.

Cheers

M

Fitted a set of Maxxis on my car - absolute shite! funnily though they have a good reputation in the MTB world, personally would not touch them - better to stay with main top brands?

I have one on my Aprilia Pegaso. It was cheap (main purchasing criteria). It wasd easy to fit. Seems OK in the dry, no real experience in the wet. The Pegaso is 2/3rds the weight and 1/3rd the power of the GS LC

Depends if keeping the bike. My company like to fit cheap (shit) tyres to save money. False economy as they last half the miles. Plus slides galore in the rain with only 120bhp diesel.
Better looking for a good deal on any Michelin/Dunlop/Metzler. Just IMO.

I have these, very very happy with mine. Both in the wet and dry :thumby:

Yes, me too. Got 2 pairs for £129 per pair fitted to loose wheels and so far the first pair have been as good as anything previously fitted including the PR4s. They seem to be wearing quite well too.

Yep good tyre A40 i have a pair fitted for about 3000 miles great tyre in all conditions, where did you get them for £129 a pair, i paid lot more then that :blast

Bridgestone were doing a £50 per pair discount with a nominated tyre supplier. Got mine from Bike Tyres at Scholes near Leeds. Got a pair and found I liked them so got another discount voucher by getting a mate to apply as the offer was supposed to be one voucher per person and then got a second pair. Also got two lots of Motul goody bags.

Bike Tyres offer free fitting to loose wheels so they said when I'm ready for the second pair fitting just bring them with the wheels and fitting and balancing will be free.

So 4 tyres for a grand total of £258 just too good an offer to miss. Done two big trips to Scotland and found them to be really good, wet or dry. The bonus is they seem to be lasting a lot longer than the PR4,s fitted previously.

Got it,i just missed out on that deal about a month before i got mine,Did a trip to Germany and France on my set and didn't hang about, thought tyres were great.
