Didn't get a discount but a very acceptable PX price and a deal on the first service.

Money is an almost unlimited commodity. There is plenty swashing around to be accumulated by anyone prepared to put in a little effort and imagination to scoop some up. Time isn't. And one has no idea how much they have. So personally I'd rather treat my limited resource with more respect. And have it now...![]()
Do you actually live your bike that way, though? For example, what do you drive, and what sort of houses do you have?
Do you fly first class, and do you have your shoes made for you?
If money is so easy to come by, I assume that you actually have a plane on standby, as checking in takes time away that you'll not get back.
Personally, in line with most people, I recognise that there's a balance to be struck.

off the top box and 10% deposit ( because I wanted a plain Jaine with h/g & cruise
) on the bike. As a matter of fact I had the feeling that he didn't want a sell, unless I went for a TE
.
.I tried one while having mine serviced, and asked what the cost to change was. It turned out to be book-bottom for mine (immaculate, full history etc, all the options), against full price on the new one that they have sitting unsold in the showroom. Full price including, of course, the £300 delivery charge, for a bike that they've bought, and had delivered, and don't have a buyer for.
Anyway, I've countered them, at a price that's about 10% off on the new one. If they want to deal at that price, I'll have a new bike, if they don't I'll enjoy the current one for a bit longer (although a bit less than I would had I not tried the new one...)
I'll let people know the outcome.
I could probably sell the wife, the spare camel, a kid or two, and go and buy one, but do you know what, i wont, why?, cos the bike i have at the the moment is 12 years old, works perfectly, is reliable as time, and i see no point in becoming another brick in the wall of consumerism.
We buy these things with views of longevity, the possibility of these gadgets lasting 100k with no troubles, when most of the dudes on here, just do 5k every 2 years running to and fro, to costa coffee on a sunday morning, then trade in for the latest model, what a fecking waste.
I can see the virtue of changing to a different lighter model to go where a GS wouldnt dare go, cos they are so feckin lard arse, but to change to a new model cos it's WC, or 2 kilos lighter, or 1 mph faster or 3 hp more powerful, sorry i dont see the rub.
Perhaps i'm the only one thinking this? and i should be flying the bm flag as high as poss.
I run an 1150, its going really well, it did 20k in 3 years touring without any bother,so why change?
I'm quite chuffed, when i park in a mass of bikes, they all look at mine, prob thinking what a croc o shyte, but none the less, they ignore this modernist brick in the the wall stuff, and look at mine.
I'll look to chop her in when it has a heart attack somewhere, and refuses to go anymore.
My Mate dave's gs has done 95k and been all round the world, batterd to fook it is,but she has a heart of gold and rumbles on.
Im rambling here, so i'll fook orf.
I'm getting all nostalgic now and need to change my adult nappy as it smells of wee.![]()

Been offered TE, Wire wheels, Luggage, Crash Bars for £6k with 2011 TB trade in.
Does that sound good ? as it is make my mind up time.
Getalife I was offered £10500 for my triple black and paid £14300 for a TE with luggage no spokes though oh and a free first service and 10% of accessories hope this helps.

I also meant to ask if the vario panniers which fit the old bike will also fit the new ?
