Hi, Amazon have discounted their Noco lithium ion batteries for prime day. I’m tempted to try an NLP14 on my 1150, any thoughts? Thanks

Well ive just taken a punt on one & the charger, i had some vouchers to use up, so it wasnt a great deal of cash to outlay

If it dosent work i can always put it up in the for sale section

How did you get on with the NOCO battery?

Learning curve, :)

Warm weather fine

10c and under they either take a few slow cranks or a crank stop x 1 2 or 3 if its really cold, it goes against what your programmed to think with a lead acid item

I Need to get all my accessories on and running to see if the alternator / battery is coping

Ive probably overloaded the bike slightly with heated seats heated clothing and Denali D7s, Innovv K3, Sumo, and the Innovv 3rd Eye but twice the bike has come up with battery low stop the bike. I was hoping the lithium would be a little more resilient.

Why?? Is it because they are the new trend?

Personally If you use your bike in below 10 degrees weather, Buy a Decent AGM or even a Lead acid battery !

They are cheaper and "generally" more reliable in colder weather

Retreats to cover awaiting incoming about being a Luddite

Nope Just being practical

Agree 100% with this. They just don’t like the cold one bit. I had one on the gsa and soon switched back to an agm.

I have the bmw lithium on my s1000xr, bike used every day, recent cold snap down to minus 1 here had absolutely no change in start up performance. It always has just started 18 months old 22k miles.

Are you sure it is a BMW OE lithium ???

And not AGM ?? which is the standard ones they use nowadays

No it's lithium factory ordered from new

I swapped my lithium back to an agm battery.
Why?

I was going on a trip to a cold area, and was running all options,
Grips, Tablet, Heated clothing

Last thing i wanted was for the battery to be in a no charge mode due to the ambient temp being to low, otherwise i'd have been in trouble

It may have been fine, but i didn't want to take the chance
