As it says really. I'd just got my standard screen set up perfectly with winglets, then got my sargent seat through which is a bit higher :blast Just enough to make it noisy again.
I'm thinking about getting a Touratech wind deflector jobby, and since everyone's got a different opinion when it comes to these things, I'll only know if it's any good if I try one for myself.

I was just wondering if anyone's got one I could borrow for half an hour to try? Or even buy second hand for that matter? Preferably not too far from Guildford/Leatherhead, but I don't mind a bit of a ride.

Saw a bike with one in Vines the other day, forgot to ask them though

Honestly

"...and since everyone's got a different opinion when it comes to these things..."

Indeed, but honestly, really honestly, they don't work (and look truly awful!!).

Second that, they do look awful but I must be one of the few it works for :augie

got one

lurking somewhere in the garage. I am in Sutton, could possibly see you at Boxhill on Sunday if it's a decent day.

Funny innit, on my 1150 on a std screen it worked pretty well !!

I have one you can try, if you can't hook up with someone local, if you pay the postage, I'll send it to you to have a play around with .

Cheers,

Marcus.

Only 'cos you haven't the heart to bin it! :D

If the truth be known the f***** is wedged on so tight I think it would split the screen if i took it off and it was 45 sheets for a bit of perspex!

Hops, you have PM, along with Steptoe.

See, told you everyone has a different opinion on these things :D

Only thing that seems pretty certain is that it could easily scratch my screen. Better be careful.

Shurv, thanks for the offer, I've had a couple of offers now so should be alright.

Oh didn't mention it needs to fit a 12GS if there are different ones.

Ahhh

Oh didn't mention it needs to fit a 12GS if there are different ones.

Mine is for the 1100 so may not fit, you are still welcome to try or look at the Touratech catalogue and see if they are different, I would guess they are.

The latter..

is that no good then Jonny?

Ah, Nope, fraid not.

An update: I've decided as I'm so busy suddenly, it was best for me to just buy one, otherwise i would've been struggling to find the time.

FATBOY on here has offered me the proper 12gs one for a very reasonable price, so I get to see for myself if it's any good :)

Thanks to all those that offered anyway.

Ok folks, I got it in the post today (hows that for quick delivery!).
Just thought I'd give my opinion of the thing now I've tried it.

IT WORKS!!! Ok, so the looks are questionable, but I just spent some time going 70 odd on the A3, visor fully open, no problems. It's cured the noise issue, and I had no buffeting or head vibration.

Granted, it may not work for everyone, but works for me anway :D

Only problem now, as it's so good, is the lack of ventilation to my head when the helmet's closed (I closed it as I was scared of hitting bees at 70  ). My vents no longer do anything, so I get really hot. Oh well, can't have everything, I suppose!

i just cut a old bit of perspex heated the top edge over the gas cooker pressed it on the sink to put a lip on the top drilled 2 small holes in it & my screen & bolted it on & it works great at all speeds . In the dry can ride with the visor up & no probs. Cheap & works used it on 8500m ride round N/W Africa unbolted it off road in the desert & have used it for 2000m back in UK iuse an open face & find it works great.
Kev (stigtech uk)

if anyone here wants to sell one for an 1100 i'd be willing to pay 25 quid posted for one? better than leaving it in the garage under all the other crap
