I'm getting fed-up with having to hose down my boots and trousers which get covered in road crap/salt etc and I don't even go off road. Washing the bike is OK but I draw the line at laundering boots and trousers!
I know some of you have the DIY side panels but I'm not too keen on the looks of old car mats held on with cable ties so am considering the Touratech side panels.
Have any of you got them and how well do they work? I know they are expensive but if they do the job they may be worth it.

Hi.
I have the side panels fitted.
Look great but still get the bottom of trousers and back's of boots filthy.
Marginal protection but still not brilliant.
I am hoping that fitting the rear hugger will cut this down even further.
Hope this helps.

Panels

I have the panels fitted and they work quite well.
But I am still going to fit a hugger when I can.

A certain amount of crud is bound to get on boots with this style of bike, I dont think its much worse than the 1150.

Have you removed the rear mudguard as i think this causes more splashback. Get rid of it and fit a deflector on the rear number plate.

cheers

Thanks, I would get a hugger but there don't seem to be any available yet other than at a ridiculously high price, guess we'll see some cheaper ones soon though.

dr rich,, yes thats me with the blueish bike.

kaycee,, i have the touratech side panels fitted.
i dont think there is anything between the two they both the same i think(i may be mistaken though)

JayGee,
I don't have the TT side panels, I do have the Wunderlich ones. They are very nice and it wasn't a big problem to have them fitted.
But, if you're looking for some kind of a protection, it isn't worth while buying them. In that case a rear hugger will do a better job (at least that's what I hope for you).
