From the link:

PRE COMBUSTION CHAMBER FOR TWIN SPARK AIR HEAD MODELS

We have developed these to Improve flame propagation. The BMW cylinder head has little squish compared to its volume, it is this squish that helps propagate the flame, and the lack of it is why twin sparking the BMW heads improves the burn.

These pre combustion chambers generate a huge amount of turbulence as the burn explodes from the ports, giving a more complete burn, smoothing the torque curve, particularly under 5.5k rpm

I'd have passed them by as being snake oil but they are made by Scrimingers.

I don't do enough miles to try them out but I'd love to know they work. Mine's been twin plugged but the lower plugs aren't connected ATM and are probably corroded in. They've fallen apart to the point of my not being able to identify brand nor grade.

I can see what they are attempting to do, a "bolt on" pre combustion chamber. Normally these would be cast into the head (a la Riccardo) so there is just enough there to lead you into thinking it could work, but my thoughts are - show me some data. The graph that is shown in the listing is totally useless, misleading even (Scrimiger should know better really) .....I would like to see a dyno run before fitment, and after fitment. Until then, I am kinda with Aberdeen Angus....

to improve the power of an airhead* - buy a more powerful bike.

* this works with pretty much any other bike too ;)

I'm not qualified to comment as a mechanic/engineer but they seem to claim that the pre-combustion chamber increases turbulence. I would expect that if someone was looking for more power it would be more about control of combustion. How much would it cost to have these placed whare they have to go? I've had a couple of these 1000cc bikes R100/7 and a r100gs and to me the engines are best left alone. Maby someone spending money on electronic ignition and mods like that would be better off. I know you can get big valve kits high compression kits big bore kits and so on but to me the attraction of these engines is their drivability and forgiving nature. JJH

That's a bit naughty! £50 for snake oil!

The dyno graph on the ebay advert just happens to be a part of the dyno graph for a 1060 airhead on scrimingers face book page. Clearly if you want a racing airhead then all you need to do is fit these plugs  Not that the dyno printout actually means anything, there's no info on it, that could be showing 5bhp for all we know.
