I love my 1200 and I'm not about to swap it for anything. However, I'd be really interested to ride a V85TT. I have read so much about them, I'm just interested to see what they're like for myself.

I could contact the Scooter Cafe at Maidenhead and book a test ride, but I'd be wasting their time and I don't really want the sales follow-up.

Or, if anyone close by would be interested in meeting up and riding my 1200 Sport for 45 minutes, we could swap bikes for a bit and perhaps it would be interesting for both of us?

Let me know if that sounds like not-the-worst idea of the day.

Really needs a day or half day Paul, lots of stuff that's not immediately appreciated on these bikes.

PS. I'm currently on a short 2 day 1 night tour around the gloriously sunny and warm Perthshire highlands. Taking in some of the big lochs, Tummel, Rannoch, Tay & Earn.....my V85TT been perfect on every road....simple small block air cooled twin with enough of everything.

I used to Kayak o20240620_142256.jpg20240620_142019.jpgn the River Tay right next to this place in Grandtully as a much younger man 😳😄

I think they’re great looking bikes and you can get some smoking deals on them since the bigger Stelvio was introduced. Sadly, I’ve never ridden one though - for same reason as you!! Lol
Jim Allan would guilt trip me into buying if I did?! 😬

I know what you mean Paul. I just had a lunch time walk out to In Moto around the corner from my office. Outside were the test ride fleet of a V85TT, V100 and Stelvio. Think they must have been the last to get Stelvio's in and I've already a seen few in real life. Parked next to a V85 though I found myself more drawn to the 850 than I thought I would. No room for any of them, but you know... you've gotta look :)

Hi Paul. I have one, based in Reigate. However I am away riding the KKH, back mid July. You are welcome to try it then. If the itch is more urgent, I can probably get my wife to find the bike keys for you. PM if so. Great little bike! Cheers

Hi Zorro. That is very kind, thank you I will contact you in late July. Reigate? Perfect launch pad for some great roads.

I will come bearing Rioja!
I'm just down the road from Reigate if you guys would like a riding partner :)
