Anyone interested in a project

Winter hasn't started yet Mikeboy ! Looking a great job though. Not sure how it started out ? Was it an R100CS or the SA equivalent.
I did restore a few of these in the noughties. Keith Shaw used to get the paintwork done for me, great paint jobs too, good as new :)
Got a soft spot for these as the R100CS was my first BMW, bought in 1984 from Hughenden M40.

When I served my apprenticeship as a tinsmith there used to be a guy whose job was to polish stuff on a machine a bit like a giant bench grinder with calico mop wheels on it. He used various grades of abrasive soap to get a mirror finish. He stood at that machine for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, year in year out, that was all he did. I could never understand how anyone could do that type of work permanently. Like you say it was a filthy job. God knows what his lungs were like…
Because some people like a certain job/ role, and take great pride in the quality of there work 👏

My god that’s beautiful!

Get behind me, Satan… dunno that he’d say that nowadays though would he?
