Hello all, got this light flashing red in the top right hand corner of the console on my 14 GSA LC when the bike is switched off. It’s only on when it’s running and I’ve only just noticed it. I’m away from my manual and I’m new to this GS variant so have no idea what it could be.
Any help greatly received.

FFS, thanks for the replies but I’ve just discovered the bike has an alarm fitted. When I asked the dealer if the bike had an alarm/immobiliser he said no. The alarm has never worked or gone off even when I moved the bike without the key in so I’m not sure why it’s suddenly started working? Every day’s a school day with this LC.
thanks again.

If i remember rightly..... go into menu and look for DWC (or something similar).... that’s the alarm setting, obviously turned Off on your bike, or it would sound when/if you moved the bike without the ignition turned on.

Ride safe

If you have keyless you can move the bike around with the key in your pocket and the alarm won’t sound. It’s only armed when they key is not in close proximity.

If the alarm is active the indicators flash when it arms so easy to spot

Has the alarm been put in service mode by the dealer when servicing the bike?

I was changing the time to BST and saw that DWC or something was off, I think I must have turned it on by mistake. What a ball ache as I bought an expensive alarming disc lock as I was told there wasn’t an alarm. Thanks for the help everyone.

Friend of mine experienced the same situation, it was only when I was helping him reset something he even knew he had an alarm! Dealer either did not tell him or know himself.

I use an alarmed disc lock as well as the factory alarm.

The more noise the bike makes should it attract unwanted attention the better.

You might be wise to join the forum, its only 12 quid well spent, and then you could get a Roadlok from Chris of this parish, that is money well spent.

The alarmed disc lock isn’t money wasted. The alarm is pretty useless and AFAIK no insurer will give you any discount as it’s not Thatcham-accredited - and it drains the bike battery far quicker when armed.

I use a quad lock to mount my iPhone 8+ and use apple maps for nav. It’s the best nav system I’ve ever used and I’ve used a few in my time. Apple maps work perfect in any country and need no updates or card changes as you cross boarders. I have a massive amount of data on a business account and as it’s on Vodafone there’s no ‘fair use policy’ you can use as much as you like even when abroad. Can’t see the point of carting a cumbersome gps unit around and a phone when one piece of tech does both. As a bonus I charge the phone from the power jack as I ride so I always have a fully charge phone when I arrive at my destination.

Hmmm boarder or borders. No wonder they call me the cheerful idiot 😆
