Anyone Know What This Is?

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place to post so sorry if not. My mate has aproblem with his Honda 600 (Cant remember exact model ) starting.

We were about to go for a ride and it never started. The battery was a problem we thought as it was old and not disconnected throught winter and bike not started for months. New battery now but this is happening.

Anyone heard that noise? Any ideas. Thanks in advance all.

You can hear the fuel pump priming or is it trying to get past a blockage? Seems to be activating a lot
Could be not enough fuel getting through?

Sounds like its only getting a brief dose of fuel and then just running out

Old ethanol fuel in bottom of tank?

Whatever, it's a fuel supply issue. Best start by draining the tank thoroughly, check the filter for contamination, re-fill with fresh stable fuel & work from there.

I'm assuming it's an old carb bike?
Get rid of the old fuel, it goes off and causes poor running. I'd also flush out any fuel from the carbs. Undo the drain screws on the bottom of the float bowls and try flushing through with clean fuel.

Thanks guys. It is Fuel injected. CBF 600 (2008) . I said to him what was said here. He did say that the bike was a bit ‘jerky’ when accelerating prior to it not starting.

Best course of action start with fuel pump I guess.
