Perhaps if it wasn't an attempted theft, but a malicious sabotage, you could put a dab of paint on the bolts and hub as a visual sign of tampering?

Sh1t, I never realised that 12's were different - I was going on 1150GSA experience (and quoting from service manual). I'm not sure how I ended up in the 12 section either.............mod contacted to correct post.
