Stuck in SE Asia.....Thank you Covid 19
I've just sold my HP2 and never got round to fitting the SM wheels on it. The new owner has fitted the wheels and noticed a marked difference in noise from the Gearbox/drivetrain area, is this common??? When I dropped it off I had the enduro wheels on and it was perfect however he reports a noise with the SM wheels fitted!!!

I seem to recall someone else had experienced this and also seem to recall a few others saying they had too...

Can anyone give any idea why this may be and what is your experience with this!!!!

many thanks i advance

From memory with the SM wheels I had less vibrations and less tyre road noise......this is about two years ago. Haven't had them on my bike since but can't recall there being a difference in a bad way at all :nenau

AI never fitted them myself but as mentioned the new owner put them on and he says it is very moisey, I can't think why that would be unless you can hear any backlash in the gearbox better!!! I'm struggling to think to be honest as I never had a single problem with the enduro wheels fitted!!!

Andy

Has he done the following properly?

"The fork protectors have to be exchanged and the front brake calliper has to be bolted into the new assembly position in line with the larger brake disc diameter (320 mm)"

Just a long shot ;)

Thanks George,
I'll drop him a note and ask. He loves the bike but mentioned this noise from th etransmission.... I feel s frustrated as its never made the noise before and I'm 375 miles away now so can't nip round to hear it.:(

If there is anything I can do to help drop me a line :)

These things happen all the time. Maybe worth asking them to change back to Enduro wheels and see if there is a difference

Thank goodness for that I was worried. As I say I never noticed any noises at all with the enduro wheels on and never fitted the road wheels. Many thanks for that.
