If you are buying a bike you can check the Road Tax or Vehicle Excise on the web as well. Good for a check to see if it's taxed etc and also cosher reg/vehicle make.

Lived in Walsall for 38 years, Registered cars in Walsall Vehicle Tax office till 1980 when it went to West Mids area tax office..... and all the letters were then combined...
Still have three Walsall registered bikes all on a DH number
last one RDH 218M
I think that about sums it up for ya ???
An arse and a Fanny are only 1" apart but it's not nice mixing them up

If you look at my last post I have added a list from another source which shows no listing for Walsall either. They clearly don`t have different codes for every single village with over 20 inhabitants. Obviously Walsall is not big enough/too near to Dudley or Birmingham to warrant its own code.
By the way, a chap I know in our village used to play for Walsall FC years ago, Bobby Shinton. Remember him?

I'm from Walsall.. (Caldmore) and I believe you're both correct.
DH was indeed the prefix for Walsall.. but, the office moved to Dudley around 1980.

BUT I was raised in Coalpool on Cut and went to T.P. Riley School Bloxwich when it was still a GRAMMAR School
I didn't want to be a Queen Marys [Qualified Muckshifter] poofter
Sadly in 1961/2 they decided to make TPR a Comprehensive school and the standards died overnight..
Now goo an ger us sum gray paas n bacon bits coz i'm ungry az an oss
An' a pint of Highgate would be Bosting
