Anyone rolling with 15w50 in their 650 Twin, yet?

Hi All,

In May, I was double-checking the type of engine oil to change for a service.

BMW were saying that later this year they would try to phase out 10w40 with a jointly-developed Castrol 15w50?

Just wondering if anybody's run with it, yet, and what their thoughts on how its' performed, so far?

Since break in, I have been using Castrol motorcycle dead dinosaur oil 20w-50.
It is also what the only oil the dealer uses and stocks.
That is since September 2009, almost 60,000kms ago. No worries.
I ride in conditions ranging from tropical city traffic to near and, at times, below zero high elevations. Valves in spec, only did one check at 50,000km for peace of mind, skipped the scheduled ones. I change oil and filter (Hi-Flo #164, yes, it works fine) every 5,000kms.

My 800 has turned 100,000 miles with Putoline 10-40

So I'll be sticking with that thanks

You know how hard it would be to sell an oil named "Putoline" in Mexico?
