As the title says, anyone sprayed or covered the GSA tank ? i dont like the ally side section and just wondered if anyone has done anything to theirs.

I thought i read some time ago that someone was going to try this but cant find the thread now.

I'm thinking of getting mine sprayed soul black.

Bahnstormer have quoted me £540 just in labour and storage alone and then painting it on top.

So what lm going to do is remove the tank myself, find a good paint shop in north west London and then refit the tank and get the whole bike ventureguarded.

To stop the scratching that my trousers have done to the tank already, which gave me the idea in the first place

By "Signature Custom Design" various designs and colours available, I think it looks great:)..

Jeez that's a bit heavy!!!

er very individual, not saying i dislike it, just not sure if its me  not cheap i expect either

When mine turns up I will be getting the exposed parts of the aluminium tank vinyl wrapped in satin black, still reckon they have gone to aluminium to make a fortune on replacement tanks from low speed spills like on the 1150gsa. with the plastic tanks on the 1200gsa being near as dammit indestructible BM must have lost out on loads of replacement sales

Not touching mine. I like the exposed aluminium tank and the feature that is made of it. Amazes me how subjective aesthetics are as I still really like the orange on green 1200 decal too. Each to their own.

I had a dabble at the weekend. Easy to apply and I think the overall effect is good (well I would say that wouldn't I?!) :D

If I was painting my tank I'd try Plasti-dip I think

It seems perfect, especially because you can literally just peel it off if/when you don't like it or want to return to original.

I must admit I've never used the stuff, but there are hundreds of videos of cars being done in it, bike tanks, wheels etc......

You could even do it in that stuff that makes the colour change from different angles

I've ordered in some 3M 1080 vinyl in brushed titanium and might give this a go, feck that stuff ain't cheap
