Anyone test-ridden the new 1250 GS yet ?

Not sure this was a serious comment but if it is --- Whats the world coming to !. fancy having a bike that seems as if it wants to lift the front wheel under hard acceleration :-) :-) . I must be from a previous generation when that was a plus point.
Too much electronics can be a bad thing when people start to criticize a bike because it wants to wheelie and they have to shut off. :-) .

Where was the criticism? :blast

Take this as it is, my dealer said the only change in the early vs later 2017 model was the wiring loom, so it could have TFT.

No, that was pretty much the intro of the MY 2018 model. As said, the 2017.5 model had bodywork changes (on the base model, and different again on the Rallye and TE Exclusive), hill assist, and improved gear shift.

This thread show the changes to the rad covers - the air intakes, headlight cowling, and beak were all changed, plus the rear seat got a GS logo. If you have these on your bike you have a MY 2017.5 (they came out around March 17). I had thought that it was also at this time when the esa modes changes from soft/normal/hard to road/dynamic, as that the map choices on the TE now included Enduro Pro and Dynamic Pro, but may be I'm wrong on that.

Mine's a 2016 model TE and it has the dynamic and enduro pro modes so pretty sure they came in earlier. You're right about the ESA though. They still didn't improve the crappy switch gear on later models which sort of annoys me.

Haven't they always had the Pro plug, sure I had it on my 13 plate:nenau

Switch gear has changed, it's black now:rolleyes:

Agree mine is same as 2017.5 sneaky blighters I thought they had changed in beginning 2017, so we see the 2017.5 models are Euro 4 and the 2017 is Euro 3

I thought that anything with the fork leg reflectors was Euro 4 and also has the improved gearbox and that started with August 2016 MY17 builds, but bodywork was the same as earlier 2016 bikes, hence difficult to know what you were getting. I think the modified bodywork and self levelling ESA only came with the 2017.5 from March 2017.

I took my fork reflectors off, as I didn't like the look of them.

Does that mean it's gone back to being a Euro 3 :D

I think BMW needs to do a recall on those reflectors. Very poor quality.
They simply fall off after the application of some solvent, heat and force. Simply outrageous on a premium brand.

This old bomber don’t look too bad sporting fork reflectors..

Must ‘ave been all the rage back then too :augie

I think they are beautiful , a work of art , not some bug faced power sled , buzzbar …. other brands will be mocked as well to keep it fair ..
