I have returned from States today , with $$ Cash .... I am going to the FIM MotoTour rally in Italy .... as are quite a few others from ? DMTC, (travelling early Sept) .... and some Euros would come in kind of handy !! (as they would do for Riders rally in August)

From previous years experience, the only way to get a decent (sensible) rate , is to avoid normal currency exchange places who just want to rip me off because I "need" Euros ... and you off, because you want dollars !!

Is there a stress free way to cut out the middle man (and a safe way , no I am not meeting up with you in a dark place !!)

PM, if you think we can work something out ?. Spot exchange rate on www.xe.com , would be kind to both of us ! I did this last year , and it worked well for both of us !

I'll ask my American brother in law (living in Dublin) as he normally buys and keeps his dollar stash in advance of a journey. PM me with your rate, ie what you will give him for €100. :thumb2

Travelled, from Scotland to dublin few days ago, got a rate of 1.36 in a tesco bureau de change in Dundee , had a look in the airport for comparative purposes and they were offering 1.20. :blast
So a tesco up north might not be the worst option if you are stuck with it.

Hmm , that has me confused , 1.20 is a much better rate than 1.36 .............. should be approx 1.10 !!.... ah well , I understand the base idea , but will not be stuck as I can spend $ in America !!

Tesco were giving me 16 more cent in the pound compared to the airport place, so the point was their rates aren't too bad, if that's a route you choose to do down...

Deal done - Offer now closed (PS Tesco rate was equally crap !!)
