Well on the back of this thread I have decided to wait until early 2017 ... to buy new brake pads for my 12 year old KTM 
Would Sir like some sprinkles with that ?
Well I can just imagine the disappointment of this person when he learns that he could have waited 3 more months for an entirely new model
Not at all. My bike is a 2017MY EU4 bike with all the important mechanical upgrades AND it is in the TripleBlack scheme which I like. It sounds like there will be some new colours (of no interest to me), but otherwise mechanically identical. Given the TB GS may not be available any longer, I'm glad I ordered and got mine when I did! If you wanted a TB EU4 GS and they have stopped making them... sorry.
Yeah, the dealer isn't taking any more orders for TB or any other current model "until late november". And I don't think it's going to be new colours only. Why stop taking orders if only some plastics need to be updated. No, this looks like something else. We will see soon.

I'm excited to be getting a 1200GS, though I really wanted the triple or the blue/gray. I'm just hoping that whatever new there is, it'll still be great looking

Absolutely, no disappointments! I have been using the bike since it was delivered - every day and it's been brilliant! I have no need of a more powerful adventure bike as the GS has plenty of drive and pace to get me in trouble on the roads, and I love the strengths of the rest of the bike. If I wanted focused power/speed, the sportsbikes do that job well. And expecting a touring/adventure bike to have sportsbike levels of power means I just end up asking the bike to do things it is compromised to do.
But I suppose if RTz only wants to be seen in the latest shiny new thing... as his own thoughts say - he would be disappointed! Emperor's new clothes and all that...
Ummm. sarcasm... I seem to remember a certain UKGSER driving us all mad about his new bike a few years back......
I only wanted to warm fellow potential buyers to consider the real possibility of a more substantial update in November based on legit advice and options/colour lists from a dealer and to hold off on ordering maybe for the time being. If the bike remains the same - no harm, no foul, there will be plenty bikes delivered for all.
Though there is a "Hill Start Control" in one of the packages which hasn't been seen on any GS before, so one can already safely assume it's not going to be "plastics only".
I'm not in any way doubting the fineness of current GS's, they are all great and I wanted one before being told no new orders are being made to the factory!
