Anyone up for an airhead trail riding trip in northern Spain?

Just for info and hope it helps....
This year plymouth to santander is a 1 nighterand its only 40 mile further - Wed sailing gets in at lunchtime next day.
sunday sailing gets in at 4 pmish
santander to ports is a 1 nighter may be a better return option (slowboat)

I still recon tunnel and a trailer/bigvan could be a good deal leave trailer at sids and have a easy day to start hotel.

Just on account of the prices I'm with Mick.

The ferry prices are just stupidly expensive on the Santander or Bilbao routes. I usually go Portsmouth/Caen with Brittany ferries, but Newhaven/Dieppe is cheaper. (I’m discounting the tunnel and Dover/Calais routes).

Sounds like most folks are leaning towards doing the September Vince……?

I’ll keep an eye on things here,
Still a bit vague to commit to a £2k jolly😆
From Calais it’s @1300 km
Cherbourg @1100,
So getting on for 200 litre of fuel,
A fucked set of tyres
And a few more hotel and food squids.
Might save £100 going thru France
Downside is 2 days cabin fever, still booze is cheap and good for you😆

We should chuck some money in a kitty and buy a second hand landing craft. Put all the bikes in and aim for the beach at biaritz. We might die, but it would be an epic adventure 🤣🤣🤣🤣

BTW I’m already signed on to do the motel mondo on the 15th-19th Sept, so the Vince the week before would put me in the right place

You'll never get the van down some of them lanes. ;)

Not my trip to be making decisions like this. One of the grown ups will have to let you know.

More the merrier 👍. Where’s your airhead special got to?
It’s up in northern Scotland, being used in competitions and other jaunts.

I had too much capital tied up in it - the KTM does what I need for about a 10th of the value, and I care less about chucking it at the scenery!

Right then, time to shit or get off the pot…..sounds like most folks are interested in doing a vince rather than going off piste, so who is willing to commit to creating a team to do the ‘master’ vince 8-12 September 2025, step forward now and I’ll give Austin a shout………

I’m not on the pot at the mo,
I’ll keep an eye on things, but if i did decide to come along I’d not be part of any even slightly competitive “team”.
I’m more inclined to use the event for light days and enjoying the scenery.
I have a really fucked shoulder so I’m not up for hardcore.

What competitions is it being used in, I've always fancied doing something with our classic bikes in Scotland. Sadly we have no airhead BMWs.

I’m with you on that Mike, that’s why I’ve not done a Vince for a few years, prefer trail riding taking in the views

Classic enduros apparently. I can enquire further - I’m still in touch with the owner.

Yes please, I can't find any club that runs classic enduro events in Scotland unless it's being used with the modern bikes.
