Anyone used Highland Dyno with their beemers??

I read a lot of the posts regards what improvements Hilltop make on the dyno to the 1200 Twin Cam, this being so far away from me i wanted to ask if anyone has experience of http://www.hmdtuning.co.uk/ and have you seen same performance impovements that seem to be acheived by the lads in Yorkshire??

Just trying to save a trip down the road however if the concensus is that this is the place to go then happy days.

Any experiences much appreitiated.

Im going to get Chap, thats his name BTW, too do my GSA soon. Not had a beemer done there but i did have a 1250 Bandit done a few years back and it transformed the bike from a snatchy cnut into a silky smooth swiss clock. I would recommend him, no probs.

it will be a wasted trip - hilltop are not in Yorkshire. try further south in Leicestershire.;)

Looks like they are dynojet agents (power commander) only.

See if they do a deal on supply/fit/dyno. ?

Yep. same as the crowd in Glasgow. Why don't you give this guy a call for a chat on the phone https://www.facebook.com/vessport based in Braco, 15 miles west of Perth. He doesn't have a bike rolling road but remaps the ECU on the bike (not a piggy back job) a proper map using the bikes ECU. He's a BMW nut, has BMW bikes albeit his business is car remapping on his 4x4 rolling road. Highly regarded, he has a contract with several of the BMW dealerships to do their cars. Call him, worth a chat!

Without a dynomometer - it's hard to think how good a map that would be, to be honest? You are saying he uses a dyno for cars, though?

Be interested to find out about a group deal if everyone is up for it, i have heard of mapping being done where you use the open road to fine tune not sure how succesful this would be with the bike like.

Not sure how the open road can emulate (legally) the application of full horsepower? I reckon group deals can be more trouble than they are worth, to organise.

I have emailed the lad up in Invergordon will see what i get back and let you know.

When im back on dry land i will give the lad in Perth a call as RTM suggests see what he says..

I emailed grant a few backs to ask him the question, he transformed my audi and I knew he was a bike nut. I've chopper the email but the question I asked him was can you remap a GS to which he said yes, all models. His email ...

"It increases the low down torque and power all the way through the rev
range. The way each bike is tuned is custom tuned to the bike
its not just a generic map. The type of ecu thats fitted on the bike cant be
live mapped as the memory doesn’t allow that it can only be customed tuned
by datalogging the bike. This is the correct way to do them.I have done it
with all my bmw bikes and they are smoother than the stock tune.I don’t have
a bike dyno so i cant do them on the dyno only on the road which to be
honest is the best way to do them .

I messaged him on facebook so will see what he says, thanks for the contact sounds very promising. For me i aint fussed about top end grunt rather have the bike fine tuned for me so sounds ideal...

Och, move to Fife.... :D A neighbour of mine recently replaced the 5 speed gearbox in his competition Subaru with a 6 speed box. His programable ECU will only do 5 gears so he had to remap it, including full-throttle runs in 6th in the wee sma' hoors.

If you end up getting it done you would be very welcome to stop by my place for a coffee enroute or way back, I'm only 10 miles away from him. I spoke to him on Friday about doing a throttle sync for me. Feel free to mention where the tip of came, I'm thinking about dong it as well as soon as I've gotten clear of a few things.
 
Aye, Schtum a mate of mine setup his new electronic gear change on his caterham on a well known stretch of heeland road in thw wee sma hoors..
