Anyone using a migsel speedo mount on an 1150: Do they vibrate at all?

As per title. I'm considering replacing the mount I have for my zumo 550 and wondered if the migsel mount is completely solid, or if the zumo vibrates at all on the arm when mounted to the migsel speedo mount.

They're not cheap so wondered what others thought of them before spashing cash around.

Mine doesn't vibrate at all. There's a tiny bit of movement in the (2) RAM arms I use, but the Migsel mount is the most rigid part of the system

I use a mount with the smaller length RAM arm. No issues at all. I did have using the standard RAM arm. Unit kept on moving down over a period of time.

Owe and if you put a longerarm on them you can have it in full vision without having to look down ....

PS .... If you buy a Migsel Mount get yourself an audio extension lead from Maplins , there about £3 and can run from Zumo into dash , under tank and end up next to your seat to ease with conection for your ear piece ....

To add to the others, the Migsel speedo mount with RAM-B-236 ball has been used over several years, even with heavier SPIII and 2610's, the trick as such is to use the short arm (1.75" between ball centres, length of yer thumb ) and zumo kit gives you a short arm. The 3" arm with a 2610 was prone to judder, but for some reason was not affected with short arm.

I can confirm this, I've used one with the short arm and a 2610 across Mongolia, Tajikistan etc. with no problems at all.

Tip: Wrap the ball of the mounts with self amalgamating tape, it gives a better grip

It's fine with a Zumo, using the short arm on my 1150, although it did have a bit of a tendency to unscrew because I have the satnav mounted to the left of the mounting ball. This was cured by a dab of Red Loctite studlock and it hasn't moved since

could have been the 1150 instrument pod being a bit loose i suppose

i sold it anyway.

I have the billet ally one for the 1200 and that's as solid as the rest of the bike.

Been looking into different mounts for my 1150 GSA and the Migsel seems to fit the bill, however I just need to know the correct components to make it work on my bike. I'm currently using a TT Rider 2.

Please read my previous reply with this one.

Migsel speedo bracket comes with RAM-B-236 (3/8" thread) onto that short arm RAM-B-201-A then use RAM-B-347 (square base) in the TT R2 kit and cradle. The difference between zumo and R2 mount kit is the arm, TT R2 has 3" standard arm.

Online start point is *new* site, www.ram-mount.co.uk or reseller or 4sale in here.

The mount supplied should fit around the handlebars so can have a use later (eg towards being a camera mount ).

Also, there's RAM-B-367 if you want ball onto yoke clamp bracket with M8 cap socket bolts.

Remove the silver cover plate on top of the clock housing, undo the two nuts holding the speedo enough to let the mount slide around the clock, redo the nuts and replace the cover plate. You may have to remove the screen and the speedo drive but I can't remember; anyway it's a 30 min job including a brew.

ps - Don't forget to route the power lead while you're in there, a little groove in the instrument binnacle helps locate it.
