Anyone using a TomTom 400 on an LC GS/ GSA?

If so, how did you power it? Someone mentioned the need for a seperate switch, but that seems rather odd.

I just soldered the power cable to the BMW accessory harness

Apparently the problem is when it's connected the can bus closes it down because of the current draw

Not with me. Connect to the accessory socket where the Nav V does and all is good

I have a Rider 400 connected to the socket that BMW has prepared for their GPS. It is located in right side behind the turn signal. I bought the corresponding male socket from www.hornig.de. No fuss and have been using the gps for over a year. No problem with the canbus. The socket automatic powers off after a couple of minutes after ignition is turned off.

Exactly as above (except for the hornig bit ), no problems doing this on both GSs I've had.
