I see that Givi are now doing pannier frames for the 1200. So far, I've been getting by with an Oxford tail pack and a Hein Gericke tank bag....haven't used the tank panniers that came with it yet.

However, I've got a pair of brand new Kappa panniers which a mate gave me to replace my Givi kit after he stuffed his VFR which was wearing them at the time, into an Audi on an Autobahn.

The Kappas would fit onto Givi frames, so I'm thinking that might be a quick fix for some hard luggage. However, I'm wondering how the nearside pannier would fare in proximity to the exhaust can. I suspect that the Givi frames must space that one out a bit further than the offside one.

Anyone know...?

Schtum,

I have just fitted a givi specific carrier (Givi part SR684) to allow use of Givi topbox.

The carrier fits well and looks similar to the BMW plate.

Sorry haven't tried panniers.

Ian

The Givi pannier frame extends out to completly avoid the exhaust, so the left hand pannier will always sit out wider than the right hand pannier
