Anyone using online backup ?

I'm thinking of doing this.

currently looking at Mozy, Jungle and BackBlaze

anyone else ?

I use BT Digital Vault, although being paranoid I encrypt all my business stuff before sending it there.

I used Mozy for a bit. It takes a very very long time to complete the initial back-up. Several weeks as I recall. I now just copy onto a external hard disk every so often

I backup over my network to a nas box. An old pc with a 433mhz processor and 256mb of ram  Running a tiny (40mb install) version of freebsd called freenas

There's over 600 gig of storage on it :thumb2

Best of all it was all free as pretty much any old pc will run it, the software is also free too.

Once it's all setup you can pretty much do everything you need to do with the box with a net interface, no need for a monitor or a keyboard.

Might be an alternative to web backups.

i have a mobile me account which has 20gb of storage amongst other things. slow on big additions, but goes almost unnoticed as the online drive is mirrored on local computers.
probably a bit "maccy' for a pc bod. what about MS Live Mesh? does that have anything included?

i want one of these:

drobo

I've used Carbonite for both my business and home for a few years without problems - I also have a portable USB external Hard Disk and a NAS box using Yosemite Filekeeper as a continual backup solution - both Carbonite and Yosemite back up on a continuous basis - you don't have to remember to back anything up, it's all done automatically.

Perhaps I'm paranoid but a thief would probably nick all the IT kit, including any external hard disks & NAS boxes, and a fire would certainly destroy every thing so I try and cover all bases - and it gets glowing praise from out ISO auditors as well.

If I recommend a friend to Carbonite we would both get free time - just need an email address.
