No, I'm crazy.... I like the quietness and build quality of the stock pipe but would love to lose the cat on my Japan-market 1100GS. A UK-spec cat-less r1100GS stock pipe would be ideal. If anyone has a pipe in good nick and would like to sell it for cheap, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks much!

Jim

By the way, if the UK-spec 1100GS doesn't have a cat or lamda sensor, is there no cat plug in the fuse box?

I have one from a 1999 European spec R1100GS. No cat. Very good condition but I hadn't really thought about selling it. How the heck do we get it to you - you're in Japan aren't you ? I would have thought the cost of getting it there may make it uninteresting. Maybe we can work out a deal because I know bike gear and helmets are a lot cheaper in Japan so a trade could be worth considering.
I work for a Japanese company so it could be possible to have it shipped with some of our stuff , we are sending stuff back and forwards all the time - I would need to enquire.

Gecko, that sounds very promising if we can keep shipping costs low, either through your company or surface mail. I'd also be more than happy to ship you something from here if we can work a trade out.

Are you in Tokyo ? Maybe send me a PM with your details and let me know what sort of money you are willing to part with and I'll talk to our shipping department to see what they could arrange.
I'm not sure about the CAT plug - but I think that there is either a blank or nothing in the fuse box.
I took the stock system off last year when I bought a Remus and since then it has been well sprayed with WD40 and wrapped in bubble wrap sitting in storage so I guess if you can use it we should at least explore the possibilities. It's had 3 years of use but it is very clean and not damaged at all.

Sorry, can't PM you because I'm just an occasional visitor, not a site sponsor. How about if you email me at [email protected] and let me know what you've got in mind for a price. Of course, cheaper is better for me. :D

Cheers,
Jim

.....oh dear.....not a forum sponsor.....maybe I shouldn't be talking to you ;)

I'll drop you an email when I have some ideas. I will weigh the thing and then talk to our shipping people. When we know about the freight cost I'll get back to you and we can explore this further.
Cheers
Gecko

PS you could always jet over for the GS rally in Belgium this weekend and take it back with you as hand luggage :D

The second plan sounds great but I suppose I'll have to go along with the first. :( :D

Cheers!
