Anyone with an R80GS Basic here?

Options on new are:

Touratech Zega
Metal Mule
Jesse Bags

None of these then to come up for sale very often and when they do they are snapped up damned quick

www.ebay.de is the best place for finding these but you'll generally only find Touratech Zegas for sale.

The options for a Basic are very limited I think, because of the different rear subframe.

As far as I know, Touratech for example does not have a pannier rack for a Basic. I haven't been looking at the other suspects yet, but I'm interested as well.

Seems you are right but an old mucker no longer round these parts Richard Jakobek had just such a thing, an R80GS Basic with Zega panniers

I have the 1150 special set of panniers on my R80G/S

... but I didn't find that rack in the cataloque either.

I've done a bit of digging and the answer is.

Zega boxes (36 & 41) BMW pannier rails and the Touratech Zega fitting kit for BMW rails :

What a fantastic looking bike - careful with that Gleter exhaust if you put panniers on, nearly burnt a whole in my placcy pannier (my fault for not fixing a heatsheild) also the wife's best fleece melted inside the pannier and she melted her Lorica boot (fit a foot sheild between footrest and exhaust)

Nice bike Migsel, take the front screen off and you realize its not the helmet thats drivin y deaf, took mine off the noise was dreadfull in fact painfull
