Anything happening round here...

Yup really was a great day out, fantasic weather. Thanks to everybody for making the effort and meeting up with us all. Thanks also to Mr Badger and Scottie for their back marker patience, and to Monty and Andy for leading us around their local roads. Tea and scones at Tiptree are well worth the trip.

Didn't know how many would turn up so it was great to have 10 bikes at Thetford and a further 10 or 11 at Bury St Edmunds. Think we gained another half a dozen at Fressingfield. Nice to meet old and new faces.

The local power rangers kept us amused with their silly wheelie attempts and blatent disregard for double white lines and speed limmits. Lets hope that they calm down and if not that they only hurt themselves. ****ers.

Anyways a few photos from the day. Thetford, Bury and Fressingfield meet ups.

And to the sea side. Had a bit of a panic moment when Bacon was having a paddle, wave came in and he started to float away
Still my boots dried out on the ride home.
Andy led us back towards Ipswich through Mistley (I think) along the shore line and I'm sure I have been there before. Recall seeing a sign for a secret nuclear bunker along there somewhere.

All ride safe and I'm looking forwards to another meet in the area. :thumb

Bawdeswell the Badger was so overcome to meet his hero he came over all shy :blush

Excellent ride out, still grinning this morning thanks to all for making the effort it was certainly worth it. Look forward to a reciprocal visit.:thumb2 Or better still an East Anglian mob invasion of the West Country weekender:drool

Mr Death who were you?
I was the ugly fecker on the GS …ooo shite I'd better narrow it down a bit further ...I appear to be standing next to bacon when he was on the police bike, that’s my bird getting a little too close to Chris:tears

Nice to see how obviously star-struck I was to have my photo taken with the lovely Bacon. Such a nice chap, other than when he almost ate Sarah's cream tea.

Happy to lead a run up to the wilds some time soon. Will I be allowed on the Strom next time, as the poor thing could do with a run out?

If anyone wants or needs contact details drop me a pm.

cheers,

Matt (aka Monty)

For anyone who is interested, here is the route from a Garmin track recording.

Thetford, Bury, Finchingfield, Tiptree.

Detour around the Bury St E's Tesco carpark (where we stopped) optional, should anyone ride it. :D looks good in Google Earth.

Aha!

Well my friend, I did not go on to the coast as I had Ma over that day so it was a quick nip out to see you guys then back to Ma! :blagblah

Where were you at cream tea time? I was sat next to Badger at the corner of the patio area?

I was opposite, originally with a couple of Triumph riders

Anyways, I think we threw them by not taking them to the caves and making them eat raw flesh!!
Are you talking about the Cave in Chelmsford last time I ate raw flesh in there I got into a row with the doormen :eek, my argument; don’t put it on display if its not for sale!:augie

Were you one of the two chaps that were last to leave?
I remember shaking hands with two gents who were on the patio sat furthest from the cafe door just before we left, we discussed a visit to Norfolk, and if I remember rightly they stated that the roads up there were in a poor state.

Yeah it was Badger who was commenting on the state of the roads up there, I was with him at the time but am an Essex boy.

Badger was the taller one :augie

Ahem, we ate the doorman so you should not have that trouble anymore!
