Ive fitted a C6 Pro to my 2024 1250 RT and it works well using the existing plug provided by BMW. As expected, if the C6 is switched on and working and the ignition is switched off it remains working for a short period of time before shutting down. This is as expected and other sat navs and device have always done the same. So far so good.

A slight issue has arisen in that if the C6 Pro is up and running before the engine has been started and the bike is then either started, or restarted the power to the device is cut immediately switching it off and it then becomes necessary to wait for what seems quite a long time for it to restart and re-commence with directions. Occasionally it hasn’t restarted automatically and I’ve had to power down my bike and phone before I could get CarPlay to reboot.

Has anyone experienced similar or can you suggest any possible solution, or is it ‘one of those things’ to put up with

I’ve had similar but it’s never really been an issue .
How do you get the Aoocci up and running before the bike ?
If I turn my bike on and start it, it’s always running before the Aoocci has gone through its start up sequence .
Perhaps only turn ignition on when ready to start bike, though that means you can’t fiddle with the Aoocci before you deafen the neighbours

What you say is correct and the issue is not insurmountable - I do tend to start the bike first and let the Aooccii boot up. It more an annoyance on those (too frequent) occasions when I neglect to kick up the side stand and select first gear. The engine cuts out and the Aooccii turns off when I restart. I guess the solution is to be a little more careful! Doh!

My query was more based on the fact that on previous bikes with the BMW satnav cradle, which I believe is wired into the same connection, the sat nav (both BMW and Garmin) did not seem to turn off in similar circumstances. I wonder if they had an internal battery which kept the power on briefly whereas the Aoccii may not

Yes, traditional gps units have a battery, my TomTom was always fine being run from the BMW plug

I think I read somewhere that the Aoocci BM units that are made for BMW integration have a capacitor built in to store a little charge and avoid this problem

I guess your model doesn’t
