I should be i-grateful if i-ukgser i-experts could give me some i-advice as to how I can delete all the i-duplicate entires in my i-cal.

I have shifted over to the cloud - I appear to have little choice and each time apple changes stuff, I get many duplicates on my calendar and contact list. Is there a way to easily delete duplicates on the cal and contacts?

cheers

memo to Jobs successor, the "i" prefix is getting a bit boring now.

Switched the bloody iCloud off for same reason so will follow this thread with interest

Make sure your icloud login is identical on all devices.

It is possible to have say, a mobile me login on one and apple ID on another. Causes all kinds of sync weirdness DAMHIK.

What's probably happened is that you've turned iCloud synching on, but then synced the data with iTunes thereafter.

For some stupid reason this is the default after you upgrade to Lion - DAMHIK

You might want to back up your iCloud data before you try this.

  1. Take a look at all your devices and try and find one that doesn't have duplicated data or a backup without duplicates. If you don't find non-duped data, ignore steps 2-4.
  2. Turn iCloud off on all devices.
  3. Then delete the records on iCloud and any other device with duplicate data.
  4. Turn iCloud back on and everything should be OK after the data has synced.
If you don't have a non-duped version of the iCal data you could try iCal Dupe Deleter, I didn't find very effective, but many have.

Struggled with just this issue accross 2 phones, an iPad and iMac and a MacBook, and failed miserably. Followed many apple forum suggestions, and tried several of my own, with no luck. Have given up for the moment, and will try again in the future.

you do get a big warning box, telling you that you might get duplication of entries if the relevant checkbox is ticked.

at least, you do now.
