Ok, so we are going on a little trip and would like to know how to charge the iPad 2 via the bike. Anyone done this?

I know the iPad needs lots of power to charge and mine doesn't charge via my laptop so maybe it can't be done?

I have a Power Port, sold by someone from this parish. Excellent piece of kit, very well made. I use this to charge my phone / or iPad as I ride along. :thumb2

Look in members list for Popeye, believe he is the vendor. Hope this helps. :)
I did a search, thanks for the help.

I'm going away next week and was looking for a 'quicker' way of doing it.

* sad face*

Plus, I don't have the time to be drilling and fitting.

Maybe I'm asking too much?

In the short term, get a converter from Hella plug (ie bmw type) to standard cig lighter socket, and use a car charger. Try Maplins or Motorway services they certainly had them at Oxford services petrol station on M40 and they had them in the services at Reading on M4 look in the truck bits section.

In the long term http://burnsmoto.com/usb-power-socket-weatherproof.php get one of these, wire into the battery and you can charge with the ignition off, they are the mutts nuts for usb power on a bike.

Ive got a flexi lead bmw to fag lighter size and a ipad car charger, works fine, pm me if you want to borrow it :)

Wow, thanks for the kind offer. I think I may have it sorted now, I have a fag lighter charger now and a solar charger.

Fingers crossed.
