Apple Mac, draughtsam program

Anyone recommend a fairly easy but good draughtsman program for Mac, I have googled but not successfully. Thanks

+1 for Draftsight. After 20+ years user of Autocad and Microstation, Draftsight is a very good, free alternative.

I've used AutoCAD for probably 17 years at work. In my experience all the drawings we receive produced using cheap or free program's are very poor in comparison. Now if your not e mailing the drawings to others and just printing them off maybe a free program will meet your requirements. I'd love to see a cheaper usable alternative as Autodesk are gypsy thieving barstewards, IMO

I use AutoCaD LT on my Mac desktop and MacBook Air, via parallels. AutoCAD is available for Mac but its eyewateringly expensive.

Draftsight doesn't seem to have any such problems, most in our office run Autocad 2005 ish, and I am the one who has to convert the newer version files for them when we get drawings from clients.

Never had any complaints about the drawings I have produced (except for the contents of course)

Do you export your drawings as. .dxf ? It sounds like your drawings maybe similar to mine, dubious!

I've used all sorts of CAD software professionally from the first releases of Autocad to the latest 3D visualisation stuff.

Although I've got an Autocad release 14 licence, for 2D at home I use draftsight. It's very Autocad like in operation and inter operates very nicely with Autocad. I send Draftsight files to various laser cutting companies and have never had any problems.

Can't be beaten for the cost (ie free).
