Whilst it's not a GPS type topic, does anyone share the view that the standard Apple Maps is now much better than Google's dreadful new maps? It seems very clear on a big screen, the roads standing out very well from the local geography in the hybrid view. The 3-D view, is quite good too, giving a good feel for the terrain. It works quite well in big cities; my house and local streets displayed pretty well, as did much of central London.

Even just using the 'Take me from A to B by walking' is quite good for finding a simple direct (non-motorway) route, which is all some bods ever ask for.

If they could find a way to incorporate self-created routing and / or to allow the suggested route from A to B to be manipulated manually and then shared effectively, they'd be on to a winner.

I think you are right. However, living very rurally I still find it lets me down from time to time. I want to believe in them but I still find myself double-checking on Google Maps from time to time.:blast

It is definitely a big improvement on the first versions.:thumb2

I too have found myself trusting them more now and the hybrid view works well for me. I'm guessing/hoping that routing manipulation etc will come in good time?

I also find apple maps better than google, clear precise directions, and turn by turn spoken directions that sound human, unlike googles rather robotic sounding voice. Still need a dedicated updated sat nav though,as the rate of building round here is so much there are large chunks yet to be added.

It's certainly a lot better than it was.

What I particularly like, is they seem to follow the country's colour coding for roads now, e.g. Blue for motorways etc.
