Apple Mac: Need to upgrade OS!

Hi, Been running OS 10.3.9 quite happily for some time now. However in the past month or two I've been looking to run several bits of software, only to be told I need OS 10.4 as a minimum requirement!

A search online shows OS 10.4.6 for Apple Mac at £79.99 from UK Amazon. Surely there must be somewhere a lot cheaper than that.

Any suggestions welcomed "from those who know about such things"!

10.5 is due in a month or so....

Should still support PPC machines.

OSX upgrades require you to actually have 10.4.x before you can pull 10.4.x+n down.

I didnt think there was any 'dubious copyrighted' software out there for macs?

As has been said before, the next version is due out in October. It will be worth the money ....
