Apple recommends not mounting iPhone to Motorcycle

The Apple add has a disclaimer at the bottom. Always use a dampener, on a small capacity engine and only for a limited time. Stuffed

Just use a vibration dampener and it's fine. Quad lock has one that can be retrofitted to existing mounts (but NOT the bicycle handlebar one) or added when you buy a mount.

[Update] So I took this into the Apple store in Covent Garden. They were very helpful, and never asked about motorcycle use. They offered to replace the camera/motion sensor for £75.
I asked about warranty, and they agreed that under EU consumer law I could make a claim but I needed to go to the point of purchase which was Carphone Warehouse. I've email them to see.

It may be that Carphobe warehouse are avis readers of UKGSER…

They offer better service in the States - an Apple Store replaced my dead iPad whilst I was on holiday in San Francisco, even though it was purchased from Currys in the UK as it was still under warranty.

[Update] So surprise surprise, Carphone Warehouse just batted this back with a long pro-forma email denying any responsibility under EU consumer law and shouting BREXIT.
So I'll pay the £75 for repair and make a note to never shop at Carphone Warehouse again. I mean they are owned by Curry's so what was I thinking in the first place.

That’s because it’s not EU law.

However it is covered in the consumer rights act 2015

Wot ‘e said. You have a contract with the seller. The goods must be of marketable quality and as described.

I’d go back to Carphone worehouse and ask them to honour their guarantee. Don’t hold your breath.

I have already discovered that they are the most stubborn, awkward sods in the world to get any warranty satisfaction from. Their attitude seems to be “so sue us”. I had a dispute regarding a Kindle some 12 years back, which was resolved by Amazon, despite the fact I had paid good money to Curry’s.

It’s the last money they ever got from me, and I will never buy anything from them again.

So sue them.

I find MoneyClaim online/CC very quick, easy, cheap and effective.

Yeah,

I would get a certain satisfaction from causing them loads of hassle, but,

Years ago, and I suffered no loss, as Amazon replaced the Kindle

Yep. It costs a little bit if the claim is more than few hundred quid, but I find most troublesome vendors settle quickly and you get your fees back when they do. They really don't like it up 'em.

That said, I am in court next month with Surrey County Council (Highways) over a pothole damage claim for a couple of grand. They are just stupid as it has already cost them more than it would have to just settle with me in the first place. Even if I lose, it has been good sport for a few quid.
