Apple wireless keyboard Q

I have bought one of these (model A1314) from an eBay private seller to use with my iPad3 - only to find that there is no Pound Sterling symbol, just a $ sign

In settings I now have two Keyboard Hardware options set to English (UK) and English ......... but still no Pound sign

Is it possible that I could "re-program" this keyboard using the "Options+3" on someone else's Mac?

Try option/alt + 3

This won't reprogram but may give you GBP sign

Well bugger me ....... it was a hash but now is a £ ........ I did a reset just now so maybe the changes I made to the hardware keyboard have now been recognised!
