While away for a week in April with me mucker Hunty we came across a nice wee trail which heads up from the B862 at Whitebridge past Loch Killin

to Stronlarig Lodge

There was a nice wee landrover track off to the right but we only got just over a mile before the track was blocked

Back down to the Lodge and we headed up to the left where a hard core track took us up across the hills

Unfortunately this lead eventually to a substantial construction site at the Glen Doe Dam where they were kind enough to escort us back down to the B862. :blush

From there we headed back up a near empty A82 to Inverness and down to Carrbridge, our base for the week.

All in all a great GS Adventure day.

Excellent photies...is the lodge for sale? :D Could make a nice project....:thumb

Thats whats i was thinking when i looked at it , its a lovely property , i was reading on the net it was sold in 1947 and has been empty since the late 60's so ripe for converting into a luxury hotel with shooting etc :thumb

Doyle - You reckon there would be much trouble for riding up and having a wee look at the lodge? Surely not?

Put yourself in the owners/estate staff position,=1 person tootling up =nothing to worry about.

Then word of mouth, internet posting:augie= every person and their dual sport bike taking the track etc.

So yes i would imagine it would'nt go down well.

Don't mean to be a sensible spoil sport but unfortunately there have been cases with people riding cross country i.e through the heather when grouse are nesting or have chicks or disturbing deer, riping hill roads up on crossers. So a hard line is usually taken with anyone.

Apart from ME:D
