However, I can see what looks like clasps top and bottom, will that restrict access to charging and audio ports on phones like my Galaxy SII where these are bottom (central) and top (about 1cm right of centre) respectively?

I'm a strong advocate of dedicated GPS but others may want to run battery hungry GPS apps which, realistically, require the phone to be vehicle powered.

I share same view on dedicated gps and have done so with you in same threads of phone gps questions .. but there are members of the parish that will want to do it, coz its free, comes wiv me fone, it has the much cheapness attraction, and ignore that the refresh rates can be shite and you can miss a turn/exit as I found out doing a gps Vs phone/google maps test in January.

There's a compatible list and its size of war-n-peace and BHT will not he 'appy with me if I add it, suffice to say that the galxay S2 is included
