Arai Tour X-3

Looks like I'm in the market for a new helmet as I managed to drop mine on to the spikey footpeg on GSA...

Looks like I can pick up a Tour X-2 fairly cheap as the 3 is now out...

Looking at the pics, it looks like you loose a top vent and gain VX-3 rear vents... has anyone got any more idea of the differences between the two?

to be honest the only issue I found with the Tour X-2 (other than hitting footpegs) is that it's not "open" enough to comfortabley wear goggles when riding off-road. I ended up getting a VX3 for that, it has a much more open face.

anyone out there know much about the Tour X-3?

got the x3 - the peak is a big improvement over the x2 - much less likely to try and rip your head off when doing a lifesaver. Venting is better. SInce the x2 and x3 visors are interchangeable I'd say the new one is no different sizing in that respect. Also benefits from the emergency release lining ...

Ditto the above,I got a Tour X3 last week,I'm pleased with the fit and finish,it appears to be better built than my Tour X and is definitely quieter,comes with a pinlock insert too and looks great in Motard Black

Many thanks guys, I'll probably go for another X2 then as I havent personally suffered with any of the noise or wind issue with mine - maybe something to do with the fact my GSA screen is set to barn door mode

the X3 looks good though, glad you guys are happy with your purchases!

Tour X3

DG is right about the improvements made over the Tour X2 , as is 2 wheel - with the exception of his poor choice of colour - plus the 3 gets a total re-design of the vents in the chin bar section , including added side vents , in addition the 3 benefits from a RX7 style chin drop down wing . These changes result in being able to ride along in heavy rain and not have rain drops sucked up onto the inside of the visor , something I found to be a real drawback with the 2 .

Effectively a new 3 at a lower price than a 2 in this country !

I've been using the 3 for two months and it is noticeably a better helmet than my 2 - it's also in the fastest colour option - metallic super gloss white !!!!

does anyone know if these helmets differ in size from standard type helmet a few people seem to have different comments about them like they didnt like them after they bought one am not close enough to a dealer to try one i have a aria condor in large at the moment so was goin to buy one on the net any answers would be great cheers

Chris has just brought his (pictured below) about 4 wks ago, all he can say is brilliant even on long journies which he had some doubt about, auto com fitted no prob, looks cool, does the job what else is there to say ....oh, only one thing had he waited until the NEC he would saved about £60

Sorry Panos but there is no way that Chris will wanna swap, I was with him when he brought it and I tried to convince him to buy the red red to match his bike as the blue one is way too nice and matches my bike so much better But he was not havin any of it. I have to admit the blue does look so much nicer, strange since its the same styling

Looks like my Arai TourX2 is going on the 'For Sale' section then - but after January when my red twat suits will also be sold off or exchanged...- blue is the colour, X challenge is the game..... Showing my age now .....
