Arai Tour X-4 from America

Hi,

I've been trying to get an Arai Tour X-4 in XXL to go with my new GS Adventure, but Arai importer has gone/or is going bust so availability in this size is zero. Importing from America looks favourite, as they have availability and would actually be cheaper than buying one in Blighty.

Has anyone done something similar and if so, did you find a good, trustworthy supplier?

Any info welcome.

A few years ago I bought a helmet from the US (when on holiday) it was DOT approved and at the time did not have a BS Kite mark. It never bothered me at the time. I guess it may not be CE approved as it is not being made for the European market. May be worth asking the question before you part with your cash

Don't forget you'll get stung for import duty

Put another £50 on a helmet I got from the USA a few years back

Also the helmet won't have the kitemark to say its passed UK safety standards so will technically be illegal although I've never heard of anyone being done for it
