I'm in the market for a tour x3. Local dealer doesn't have a large size in the colour I want in stock but he assures me it's just a case of swapping the liner, i.e he is suggesting taking the liner out of a large size lid and putting it into a medium lid in the colour I want. Has anyone done this? is he correct?

That's the way to do it :thumb2

A couple of years back a mate of mine wanted a Tour-X lid and we found the one he wanted at the Birmingham NEC Show. Unfortunately they didn't have the size he wanted so we negotiated a massive discount off the lid they did have then we took it along to the Pheonix stand and because the lid was brand new they fitted new liners bring the lid down to the correct size FOC :D

Some days things just work out nice :augie

I've a med size tour X. Found it not to my liking, too much wind noise, and far too much draft. I contacted an Arai dealer and they put in extra linners to make the helmet smaller, but its still not to my liking. On a cold day I would get a headache with the draft, even with all vents closed. Maybe the tour x 3 is an improvement, or maybe my lid still isn't fitted correctly.

I'm still relatively new to biking so was relying on friends advice saying Arai is good. I'm thinking on buying the system 6, but reading owners reviews here, i'm not too sure now.

I got my new Tour x3 last week in McNulty's in Enniskillen. They changed a medium liner to a large and it fits perfectly - good price too for the long way down version - £380 as opposed to full retail of £429:).
I must say I'm impressed with the comfort and quietness of the lid and rate it well above my Shoei Multitec and old Caberg J1

I bought my helmet from Millsport in Ballymoney, they're not an Arai dealer but I figured it fitted ok as a basic medium. Crossans in Mayobridge made it smaller, at the time I thought it was a good tight fit, but not totally happy with it. As i said, the System 6's are gettin mixed reviews here even though I'm swaying towards one with the bluetooth added.
