Hi,

Just looking for some opinions and experiences on these two helmets. I am looking to get a new one and am thorn between the two. I know ultimately it will come down to fit.

I would normally go with an Arai helmet due to their high safety (above the minimum standard) but the BMW one with the coms integrated looks nice as i like the neatness of the integration rather than a unit attached to the side and trying to hide wires (like my current Arai). My main concern is the chopping out of the foam on the BMW to allow for the integration. I held the BMW helmet and it is rather light compared to my current Arai (also a concern). In the event of a crash less foam and a light helmet is not good :reaper. My face and head may not be the best looking but i would like to keep them as is, kinda grew on me over the years.

Any advice or comments would be appreciated :thumb2.

Edit: Sorry I meant to specify I was talking about the new GS version.

I don't know anything about either of the helmets. I wouldn't be judging it's abilities on weight though. It could be a lighter but stronger construction. A heavy helmet could also result in neck injuries. None of that is to say the BMW helmet is better or worse safety wise just I think your judging it the wrong way.

Carbon kevlar is lighter than a plastic lid but I know what I would rather have.

Very true statement.
