Being reliant on crutches, you very quickly learn the value of having a small back pack. Sadly, my faithful old favourite (a Haglofs bag, I bought in Sweden) has succumbed to age, so needed to be replaced.
Lots of ’day bags’ are either too flimsy or unnecessarily heavy. Similarly, they either have no pockets or too many. A patient search brought me to the Arcteryx Aeriios 15, which resolved all these deficiencies at a stroke.
Size: Large enough to be useful but not so large as to be uncomfortable.
Pockets: A sensible outer pocket on top, to save you opening the entire bag, just to get your wallet out at a train station. Two good inner pockets, with a handy key strap. Sensibly, these pockets are also at the top of the bag. Two good outer pocket to carry a drinks bottle.
Weight: Next to nothing.
Quality of stitching and material: Good
Recommended.
