Ardennes 10 July - 13 July

I have been up and down that road from Sedan to Verdun a few times over the years, nice road but often wanted to get off it and try some of the back roads in the area. Lovely rolling countryside, not much traffic.

Every time I visit verdun, especially around the forests North and East of the town (battle sites) I encounter the biggest mosquitos. Was that way in 2009 with Anonymous from this site, they ate him alive. He still has the scars to this day.

David,

David,

Give that route a miss then

Hi Tom and Rabbitson,

1. You are welcome to join us, Tom.

The whole of Luxembourg, Belgium and anywhere north of Troyes in France is not far from Calais on a motorway. Just get yourself onto a main road, then the superslab and it's plain sailing thereafter.

You could leave Bouillon (or anywhere in the region of) any time between 16:30 to 18:30 and be back on the train in reasonable time to get back home.

It will reconfirm your hardcore credentials. :D

Let me know and I'll see if I can find you a room.

2. I know the road, Rabbitson. :thumb2 :beerjug:

Besides gaining Tom we have also gained Cheesysalesman.

Tom and Cheesy, I have contacted the hotel about changing the reservation.

Richard

self serve

Am I guessing that we are booking our own train then? I can see the times for departure so I guess I should book? Am I missing something?

Ed

Yes book your own train, if by any chance the departure from UK is full try and get the next earliest preferably. Should be OK though.

I may have to come back on the Monday night as I have a looming challenge at work!

I'll be leaving from east London (Snaresbrook) on the Saturday morning so is there a plan to rendezvous prior to hitting the motorway?

I shalll just do my usual blast down the M11, M25 etc not sure about the rest though. Looking at your Location it states Huntingdon, is that your normal location as I live in Royston.

I'll be having brekkie in the Best Western hotel in Hythe and will rock up to the Chunnel at about 8am and park directly outside the entrance to the shops/restaurant

I shall leave home quite early as i will be taking the scenic route across to the Chunnel.

Probably get there way to early so will enjoy a large coffee and wait for you guys.

Hopefully it won't be hammering it down like last time.

Twin Locations

I live in London most of the time but the bike is in my garage in Huntingdon along with all my other boys toys. I'd love to have the bike down here but the insurance is flipping extortion and we dont have a garage sadly. I'll bring the bike down on the Friday night and set off from Snaresbrook on Saturday morning. My route will be via the Blackwall Tunnel then A20, M20 - 76 (dry) miles!!

In know Royston quite well - used to spend lots of time in Barkway.
