Are any dealers offering a discount?

I only paid £14.5k for it new and, as its pointed out on a couple of posts, I think the discount I got reflected an increased offer on the bike tbh. It needed new front pads and disks within a couple of thousand miles and a 24k service....so I factored that in. I use my bike all year round and whilst its 'AllYearBiker'd with AC50 a couple of times a year, it wasnt in 'mint' condition.

Sounds ok then

I got £9k for my July ‘16 old GSA TE with 23k on the clock last week as a trade in...

The other bike buyers online weren’t close. Reasonable discount as well. North Oxford, Simon off on baby duties currently but Laurent (business Mngr) is around.

Sounds similar to my experience at Chandlers Brighton last week - my March 2016 GSA TE with 20k valued at '£9.5k-£10k' against a new GSA 1250. Approximate value because it would go out to trade - they wouldn't sell it themselves due the mileage.

Try ringing Steve Coleman at Allan Jeffries Shipley, he’s normally very accommodating.

Perhaps you should try get rid of your old bike on here so you’re doing a straight purchase

Yes there are deals to be had, but I'm not at liberty to discuss what I was offered on one. ;)

Go and visit some dealers in person and thrash it out.

Why TF not?? Is someone going to put you up against a wall and shoot you or was it a "family favour"??

No, of course not.

But there were too many factors that were only applicable to my deal, so it would be pointless in me going into any detail on here anyway.

Of course there were:rolleyes:;)

So why the sanctimonious post and the "wink" (BTW, mine was ironic)

Too many miles at 20k

wessie;530823 Also think about the value of the dealer relationship. To me said:
Very wise words sir. I am not "in the industry" at all, but as the old saying goes....."use it, or lose it":thumb

Not sanctimonious at all, but I’ve done a lot of work with the dealer, so that was reflected in the deal they offered me. It would be completely pointless in me posting what the deal was on here, even if they didn’t mind.

‘‘Tis all well and good posting up the deal from the dealer,
How about goodwill from the customer?
The salesman is going to look after you far better if you’ve been buying for ,say 5 years, had service work etc etc.
Plus they will go the extra mile if something goes wrong.
If you change machines regularly,a good relationship with your dealer is essential.:thumby:

Well despite the best efforts of William Manchester and bahnstormers, they couldn’t touch the deal from park lane.

Order placed for 29032019 delivery.

Gotta love the missus. When I told her all she w@nted to know was the colour.

My dealer called today and offered me £9700 for my 2014 GSA TE, with 18K miles, as trade-in on a new 1250 GSA Ralley TE. Does this sound like a good deal?
I was looking around at 2014 GSA prices on eBay, Biketrader etc. and prices ranged around £11000 for bikes with much higher mileage (20K +).
My bike is in spotless condition and was bought new from this dealer and all services done there, so they know its full history.

He also said that the new GSA Ralley TE price is £18203 but on the BMW configurator it says its £18100. Brexit at work already :nenau

Price seems decent to me, you’d be looking around £10k private and would have all the hassle of the time wasters, tyrekickers and the no-shows

True that, I've had my fair share of timewasters over the years so trade-in is my preffered route.
I'm signing the dotted line this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to twist his arm a bit.

Definitely discounts to be had - I was after a 1250 Rallye and was initially offered £500 off, phoned another dealer who offered £800 discount - went back to original dealer who went to £1000 discount (cash and no part exchange)
