I was kindly gifted a set of Touratech Hella lights that had been fitted to a mate's 1200 GSA (2006-ish model).

I would like to fit them to my 1997 R1100GS (yes, from the lights' perspective, this is quite an upgrade...:D)

Knowing that the 1200's canbus system is quite different from a conventional loom, does anyone know whether the set-up is likely to be compatible, or easily modded to fit?

* I know that wire lengths, connectors etc are bike specific and will need to be altered.

* Mick from Motorbike Adventures is currently on his travels, he was my first port of call.

Any thoughts gratefully received..

Of course they will fit :thumb2 you may need to sort out a switch, the thread title was a little misleading :thumb2

Thanks Stewart, that's useful.

My electrical knowledge falls well short of understanding how canbus looms switch / deliver power to items like these ... :duno

I have a few spare parts for the set up as well if needed, also as only one of the lights is HiD I also have the kit and TT ballast to convert the other one :thumb2

Thatks Les, that's really generous.

OK I will find myself an electrickery specialist, and then see what I need.

Cheers,

Paul
