I'm thinking about swapping my left hand switch gear for a later version with an additional button ... small project I have in mind!
However, the ones that I'm looking at have the ABS button relocated to the top, replaced with an ESC button. Anyone experienced what happens when a later switch unit is swapped and plugged into the can-bus system on an earlier bike? Will the ABS still control the ABS, trip/info still toggle the trip, etc? BTW my GS is 2006.

Otherwise, anyone removed the gubbins from a switch without it becoming fubar?

I would imagine that it will not swap over but you could swap over the internals and have the spare switch, then you could add in spare wire to switch but i fail to see what use this would be as they are only a pluse switch.
